Official: Govt discusses retirement age, no draft law exists yet
MOSCOW, May 15 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is discussing the retirement age but there is no draft law yet, Deputy Chairman of the United Russia party in the State Duma Andrei Isayev told PRIME on Tuesday.
“We know that the government is discussing the retirement age but we were also talking about this with the chairman of the government… that this decision can be made only after a broad public discussion,” Isayev said. “No text can appear out of the blue and be voted for.”
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said earlier that the government will soon prepare proposals on a retirement age increase.
